Part of our Hills collection, Cheviot Rise is the coffee we serve from the Land Rover Defenders, the one our customers return for week after week - smooth, balanced and rooted in place.

Named after The Cheviot, Northumberland's highest summit and an Icon of our Northumberland landscape. Unbeknownst to many, The Cheviot, under its cloak of heather, lies the remnant of a long-silent volcano. Over 400 million years ago, it erupted in fire and fury, slowly cooling into the rounded hills we now know and love.

When we discovered a Colombian coffee ‘Volcano’, grown on the fertile volcanic soils of Nariño, it felt fated. This coffee draws a poetic symmetry, one volcano to another. A line between the Andes and the roots of our own northern hills.

This coffee is smooth and comforting with a citrus lift. We serve this coffee for espresso-based drinks on the Northumberland coffee Defenders. It brews beautifully across all formats. Be it as a filter, V60, Aeropress and Cafetiere, a true all-rounder.

It is the heart of our hills collection and the one we trust to represent us, wherever that may be. Our house coffee. A Northumberland icon in a cup.

Shipping information

We roast fresh batches every Monday and Wednesday. Orders are dispatched the following day, so anything roasted on Monday ships on Tuesday, and anything roasted on Wednesday ships on Thursday. This schedule keeps your coffee as fresh as possible from our roastery to your door.

If you need your order sooner, place it before our roast days and we will include it in the next batch.

Storage

To keep your coffee at its best, store it in a cool, dry place away from light and air. Keep the bag sealed between uses or transfer the beans to an airtight container. Avoid fridges and freezers, as moisture can affect the flavour. For peak freshness, aim to use your coffee within a few weeks of opening.

Every Roast Considered

Each batch is crafted with precision and purpose - origins chosen for their story, flavour, and connection.

Built for the journey

Coffee made for real moments - from sunrise on the beach to the warmth after a cold hike, always there when it matters most.

Rooted in Northumberland

Born from wild landscapes and quiet strength, our coffee carries the spirit of Northumberland in every cup.
